Biography
As Senior Editor for News, Neil Fraser directs Fine Times Canada's coverage of breaking stories, political developments, and national events. He assigns stories, shapes coverage angles, and works with reporters across the country to ensure speed and accuracy on every major file.
Neil spent ten years at the Toronto Star, where he rose from a parliamentary correspondent to senior news editor. He covered three federal elections from the campaign trail and helped coordinate the Star's pandemic coverage in 2020 and 2021. Before the Star, he worked as a general reporter at the London Free Press and interned at CBC Radio in Toronto.
Neil grew up in Guelph, Ontario, in a family with Scottish roots going back three generations. He studied political science at the University of Guelph before completing his journalism education at the University of Western Ontario. He plays rec league hockey on Thursday nights, reads military history for fun, and drives his family to Prince Edward County every Thanksgiving.
