Been tracking my blackjack sessions religiously for the past 8 months, and something's definitely shifted with side bet frequencies since early December. Specifically the 21+3 side bet - I'm seeing straight flushes and three-of-a-kinds hitting at roughly 3x the expected mathematical rate.

Normal 21+3 pays should be around 9:1 for suited trips, but I've logged 14 hits in my last 180 hands across three different Evolution live tables. That's a 7.7% hit rate when it should be closer to 2.8% based on standard deck composition.

What I've Observed

December 3rd through 18th sessions show consistent patterns - not just lucky streaks. The straight flush combinations (specifically hearts and spades) are appearing way more than they should. I'm wondering if there's been an RNG adjustment or if Evolution tweaked their shuffle algorithms.

Anyone else keeping detailed logs notice similar patterns? This could be variance, but 180 hands is a decent sample size for spotting anomalies.

You're chasing patterns that don't exist. 180 hands is nothing in blackjack variance - you need at least 2000 hands to spot real RNG issues. Side bets are sucker plays anyway, designed to drain your bankroll faster than basic strategy.

Evolution didn't change anything. Their shuffle is certified and audited monthly. You hit a lucky streak, that's it.

Actually noticed something similar at Goldenbet last week! Hit the 21+3 side bet four times in one session, including a gorgeous suited three-of-a-kind that paid 100:1. Normally I avoid side bets but their live dealer Sarah kept suggesting it, and wow did it pay off.

Maybe December is just our lucky month? I've been playing their Evolution tables almost daily and the cards have been incredibly kind. Even hit a perfect pair twice in the same shoe on Saturday night.

Keep riding that wave while it lasts - variance works both ways!

Been splitting time between live blackjack and poker lately, mostly sticking to the Atlantic provinces' regulated sites. Haven't tracked side bet frequencies as closely as you, but did notice some unusual clustering last weekend during a 4-hour session.

Hit three straight flushes in about 90 minutes at one table, which felt off. The dealer mentioned they'd switched to new shuffling machines that week, though she wasn't sure of the technical details. Could be coincidence, but your timing matches up with what I experienced.

That said, Mike's right that 180 hands isn't statistically significant. But if multiple players are seeing similar patterns across different sites, might be worth monitoring through January.

This is fascinating stuff - I'm still learning proper blackjack strategy and had no idea people tracked side bet frequencies this closely. Is there a specific app or spreadsheet you use for logging hands? And should new players like me avoid side bets entirely?

I've only played about 30 hands total but did hit one 21+3 payout last week. Didn't think much of it at the time.

Interesting timing on this post because I've been grinding through blackjack wagering requirements for bonuses all month. Been playing at Ozoon specifically because their live blackjack contributes 25% to wagering (better than most sites), and I've definitely seen more side bet hits than usual.

What caught my attention wasn't just the frequency but the distribution - seeing way more suited runs and perfect pairs in the first half of shoes. Usually those cluster more randomly throughout the deck. I'm not a card counter like you, but something does feel different about the shuffle patterns since they updated their live casino platform in early December.

Could be they tweaked the penetration depth or changed how they handle the cut card placement. Either way, I'm not complaining - helped me clear a $800 bonus requirement 40% faster than expected. Though I'd still recommend sticking to basic strategy for the base game regardless of side bet variance.

From a pure probability standpoint, you'd need to see this pattern persist through at least 1000 hands before drawing conclusions. December could just be statistical noise - we see these clusters all the time in sports betting data.

That said, if Evolution did adjust their RNG parameters, it would show up in the monthly eCOGRA reports. Worth checking their December audit when it's published.
