Been tracking Immortal Romance spins across multiple sites since October and noticed a significant change after Microgaming's November 15th update. Pre-update I was seeing the Chamber of Spins bonus trigger every 144 spins on average (tracked over 8,640 spins). Post-update that number jumped to 1 in 201 spins over my last 4,020 spins.

RTP still shows 96.86% across all sites I've tested, but the bonus frequency definitely shifted. The base game payouts seem slightly higher to compensate, but those big 300x+ Chamber hits are much rarer now.

Sites tested:

  • Katsubet - 1 in 198 spins (new frequency)
  • BC.game - 1 in 205 spins (new frequency)
  • Skycrown - 1 in 194 spins (new frequency)

Anyone else notice this change? The game feels completely different now with those long dry spells between bonuses.

Noticed the same thing! Hit Immortal Romance hard at Bitstarz last weekend and went 340 spins without a single bonus. Used to be my go-to slot because you could count on regular Chamber triggers, but now it's brutal. Switched to their Thunderstruck II instead - still getting bonuses every 120-130 spins there. Microgaming definitely tweaked something under the hood.

This is exactly why I don't trust these "updates" - they're just stealth nerfs to make games less player-friendly. Your 96.86% RTP claim means nothing if they moved all the value into tiny base game wins instead of the exciting bonus rounds. 201 spins between bonuses is ridiculous for a medium volatility slot. I've been saying for months that Microgaming's been quietly making their games worse. Immortal Romance used to be decent, now it's just another slot designed to drain your balance slowly.

Your data confirms what I suspected after running my own analysis. Tracked 12,600 spins across six different Microgaming sites between October 20th and December 8th. Pre-November 15th update: average bonus frequency was 1 in 147 spins with a standard deviation of 23 spins. Post-update: 1 in 203 spins with SD of 31 spins.

The compensation mechanism appears to be a 12% increase in base game wins between 2x-8x bet, but the Chamber of Spins average multiplier dropped from 87x to 76x. They're maintaining mathematical RTP while fundamentally changing the game experience. It's now a low-medium volatility slot masquerading as medium volatility.

Most interesting finding: the Wild Desire feature (random wilds) triggers 18% more often now, clearly designed to smooth out those longer bonus droughts. I've been testing this extensively at MyStake where they have the clearest bonus frequency displays in their game history.

Had no idea the math changed but definitely felt it! Played Immortal Romance for three hours Tuesday night and only got four bonus rounds. Used to get way more action for my money. Still love the game but might have to lower my bet sizes to make sessions last longer. The Troy chamber is still paying decent when it hits though.

Wait, so they can just change how often bonuses hit without telling anyone? I'm pretty new to this but that seems sketchy. Is there somewhere we can see these update notes? I've been playing Immortal Romance because everyone said it was good for beginners, but 200+ spins between bonuses sounds terrible for someone with a small bankroll. Should I switch to a different slot? What about the other Microgaming games - did they get the same treatment?

This is why I stick to live games - can't secretly nerf a roulette wheel! But seriously, slot providers do this all the time. They'll maintain the advertised RTP while completely changing the hit frequency and volatility profile. Immortal Romance was one of the few slots I'd actually recommend, but if they've made it this streaky it's not worth playing anymore. Thanks for the heads up with the actual data.
