Been tracking my sessions across different sites and noticed something odd. Games that should have identical RTPs seem to perform differently depending on where the operator is licensed.
Take a standard NetEnt slot like Starburst - supposedly 96.09% everywhere. But I'm seeing wildly different hit frequencies when playing the same game on Ontario-regulated sites versus offshore operators that still accept Canadians.
What I've Observed
Ontario sites: More frequent small wins, longer sessions, but lower max payouts seem capped somehow. Offshore sites: Fewer hits overall, but when they connect, they really connect. Variance feels higher.
Possible Explanations
- Different RNG implementations even with same theoretical RTP
- Provincial regulations affecting bonus round triggers
- Operators tweaking volatility within allowed ranges
- Just confirmation bias on my part
Anyone else tracking this kind of data? Would love to compare notes, especially if you've got session logs from before and after Ontario regulation kicked in.
